Peter started Karate in April 2000 at the age of 37 after watching his 4 year old son Dean (The current 2009 Australian Open Champion for his division) in the Little Dragon’s class. Both continue to train at the Seaford Dojo where Peter has now reached the grade of 3rd Dan. He opened the Mornington Dojo in 2004 where he conducts classes five days a week. Peter is now pleased to announce the Opening of his second Dojo in Hastings. 

Peter started competing for the very first time as a yellow belt in local competitions in both kata and kumite. He was naturally drawn towards the speed and action of kumite. After competing at State Championships and winning a heavy weight open, he became undefeated in the Veteran Division four years in a row. He was selected to represent Victoria on three occasions winning two National Championships and one third. Peter also won an Australian Open gold medal and was selected to train on the National Team at the A.I.S in Canberra.

Peter now a kumite Coach has been training elite athletes to compete at State, National, and International level, having very good success under the guidance of Sensei Bruce Hyland. Peter now has a goal to maintain the high level of Karate that his Dojo has all ready achieved, with the help of Sempai Paul Holtzinger.
